Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song for a little girl with whom I worked in the DC public school system.
Song Description
This is an advice song, with the voice of experience breaking it gently to a younger listener that things won't always be easy. The gorgeous melody and exquisitely harmonious vocals soften the news that neither happiness or sadnees lasts forever.

Lyrics
Now and then you?ll get a scrape
Now and then you?ll crave escape
Every now and then you?ll want to run away
There will be times when you'll be wired
And at others far too tired
There will be times when you can barely face the day
You may hate who you?ve become
Hate everything and everyone
You?ll feel you?d not be missed
If you did not exist, but
This too shall pass (4x)
Your time will come for riding high
It seems there?s nothing you?re denied
And the world lights gently right inside your palm
And for whatever reason
It seems so Damoclesian
And you?re certain you can never do it again
You?re so fearful of the fall
You know that you could lose it all
So busy being scared
You might forget you?re there, but
This too shall pass (4x)
You won?t always get your way
You won?t always have your say
And there?s always those who tell you what to do
There will be things you?ll never start
And someone?s sure to break your heart
Leaving holes so big you?ll feel the wind blow through
You will be hollow as a straw
So completely rubbed and raw
A lost and broken pawn
What?s the point of going on? but
This too shall pass (4x)
