Keep Your Eyes On Me

Story Behind The Song

I think the whole "real t.v." thing has gotten totally out of hand. I do not watch it, nor does anyone I know. Someone must be though for it to keep getting bigger and bigger. this song is about living vicariously through people on t.v. instead of getting off of your butt and actually crossing the threshhold into the great outdoors. i got the "falling down" from one of my favorite movies. Called "Falling Down". It is where Michael Douglas plays the part of a guy who has been pushed to far. By his disfunctional familiy, bad traffic on the interstate, businesses with poor customer service and over all high prices everywhere he goes. He snaps. That is where I was when I wrote this song. It was either snap and take someone out, or play my guitar and write a song. i am happy that I went with the latter.

Lyrics

When I go down I'm taking you with me
Through the camera eye you'll feel everything
Way up high witout a net
it's something you won't soon forget
yeh when i go down I'm taking you with me
Keep your eyes on me
Falling down
I'm in control
Falling down
Into the zone
I'm gonna rise
Just you watch and see
Your living vicariously
keep your eyes on me
I'll be the one to take all the chances
You can sit around and count the days
Your living every minute for everyhour
And when we go down we'll go out in a blaze
Keep your eyes on me
Falling down
I'm in control
Falling down
Into the zone
I'm gonna rise just you watch and see
Your living vicariously keep yur eyes on me
Falling down
I'm in control
falling down
into the zone
I'm gonna rise jsut you watch and see
I'm the only thing on t.v.
keep your eyes on me
lead:
there are no "idols" or " survivors"
And all the worlds a stage
Glued to the tube you can be anything
