Story Behind The Song
I had the title and loved it. Actually this is the fastest I've ever finished a song, this one was done in two days. I started singing the verse lyrics I was writing and the melody seemed pleasant. guiatr chords were real simple choices too but, really a nice contrast to the vocal melody, I knew Kristen's voice would sound great on this one. The lyrics are very real for many women and I love how the song ends the story without preaching or judging... it simply says, "That's what I know about Jean".
Song Description
commentary on how what we think we want changes when we get it. the vocals give an uninvolved commentary about this girls' life.

Lyrics
She hung around with Tommy more than anyone thought was good She loved to think of new ways to make herself misunderstood
Before she thought about it, she was putting her own kids to bed
Set her sights on Monday but, Tuesday rolled around instead
She cries with new reasons why
(chorus)
See her smile, day after day
But in her head she screams?
How did life turn out this way?
In a role she never chose
What about Jean?
Still wears her memories of High school, before it all changed.
Hating the mirrors that tell her, she?ll never look the same.
Now 3 people need her for happiness and security.
Her days are spent fantasizing about being free?
She cries with new reasons why
(chorus)
(change)
Looking out the window at the boy next door
thinking dirty thoughts that she will try to ignore
Shopping at the outlet let?s her briefly forget
replacing her depression with a growing line of debt
That?s what I know about Jean
