Broadjam Member Reviews

Great story. That is the heart of a good country song -- a story. The truck stop setting makes this a new twist on the classic country love song. Good work. Original idea and some really great lines that don't give in to the predictable.

Lyrics

TRUCKSTOP LOVE

? Pat Luce Chapman

She looks outside the window of the truckstop restaurant
as the boy drives up and pulls the brake
of his dusty blue pickup truck

He says, Howdy Ma'am, what's good today?
She says, You beat what's on the menu
He says, You look pretty good yourself
I'd like to make this order for two.

He's got blond hair like the morning sun
She's got blue eyes like the evening rain
Maybe they've a future like she's dreaming of
or maybe just truckstop love.

The wind blows open the door of her trailer
His boots scuff the linoleum floor
his jeans against her dress on the beatup old couch
He gets up quickly to shut and lock the door.

He's got blond hair like the morning sun
She's got blue eyes like the evening rain
Maybe there's a future like she's dreaming of
or maybe just truckstop love.

Will she tell him she loves him now or wait till he's asleep
All she knows this old boy is the one she wants to keep
Wants to keep

He's got blond hair like the morning sun
She's got blue eyes like the evening rain
Maybe there's a future like she's dreaming of
or maybe just truckstop love

She looks outside the window of the truckstop restaurant
as the boy drives up again and pulls the brake
of his dusty blue pickup truck
I guess it's not just truckstop love
Oh no it's not just truckstop love
Oh no, it's not just truckstop love..
