A friend told me about picking blackberries for pies when she was a little girl, and I love the idea of it.

homesick for some down home food like Mama's berry pie.
Picking through the frozen food tears come to my eyes
remembering those golden days when Mama was alive.
In the fall we kids would pick blackberries on the rise
then we'd take the pails on home to bake up into pies.
Soon Mama in her apron was rolling out the dough.
