She wondered why they were so well connected and nothing was coming of it. She wrote the song out of frustration for him. She later discovered he wasn't interested in women...

Song Description

The first verse of, "Rome," is a drunken love profession to a person the narrator is enamored with. It's stating they're feelings and how they can't ignore them. The chorus of, "Rome, " is basically the narrator saying, "Listen! I'm a great person with a lot to offer you!" And asking, "Why won't you give me your time?!" The second verse goes into saying, "Look I know I'm not perfect! I have flaws, but, I'm still good for you." The bridge is saying, "I know these things take time and maybe I'm being hasty but I wish you'd cut me a break." Rome is a great pop song that listeners can relate to in situations of unrequited love.
