Story Behind The Song
I live in Northern California. It's all around us here. I wanted to write a song about this time and place, socio-politically, and then produce it in a old bootlegger, footstomping vibe to give it a slightly prohibition-era feel.
Song Description
Mason Jar Dreams is a socio-political song about Northern California and the thriving marijuana economy that exists up in Mendocino/Humboldt/Lake counties.

Lyrics
Caffeine and morning fog I make my way up north to Mendocino
My friend the medicine man...waits for me
Stopped in Sebastapol
Spotted Tom Waits at the casino
Up in them redwood groves
Beware the ones without their teeth
Got them amphetamines....But
the sheriff says...don't worry
Go ahead and let your gardens grow
We've got our eyes on them federal operations
You won't face my mediation
In your...mason jar dreams
Ever since he was seven years old the doctors diagnosed him ADD
Said give to him this ritalin
But now he's dropped it flipped it switched to THC
And now with county state permission
He's a got a viable affliction
To justify his affection...for the green
He calls it medicine
And the sheriff says...don't worry
Go ahead and let your gardens grow
We've got our eyes on them federal operations
You won't face my mediation
In your mason jar dreams
And I keep seeing stores
Selling hydroponic carnivores
And there's a scent that lingers in the breeze
The sheriff says...don't worry
Go ahead and let your gardens grow
We've got our eyes on them federal operations
You won't face my mediation
the sheriff says...don't worry
Go ahead and let your gardens grow
We've got our eyes on them federal operations
You won't face my mediation
In your mason jar dreams
Oh in your mason jar dreams
Up in them redwood groves you know...
In your mason jar dreams
Beware the ones without their teeth
In your mason jar dreams
