Lyrics
Slippin? into the past.
Isn?t it nice to see the sunrise-
If you?re around when it?s going down?
I don?t care much for sky rises-
Or the asphalt on the ground.
Give me a spot under a shady tree-
In a field of green.
Then nothing really matters much to me-
If ya? know what I mean.
Oh- we?re moving way too fast!
We?ve got to learn to let a good thing last-
Change all the lessons and get back to class.
We?re slippin? into the past.
I?ve only been here for 36 years-
But I?ve seen my share of pain.
I look outside at all the lonely people-
And I watch them love in vain.
I?d really like to change the world-
But it just takes too much time.
They say it begins with just one life-
So I guess I?ll start with mine.
Oh- we?re moving way too fast!
We?ve got to learn to let a good thing last-
Change all the lessons and get back to class-
Teach everybody that life can be a gas-
Instead of just a pain in the?
We?re slippin? into the past.
