When the Trouble Began M.Landgarten c and p 1999 Jelly Bar Music ASCAP
I was 5 years old, sitting with my sister at the top of the stairs
while my
parents below, screamed at my oldest sister locked up in her room
it was the middle of the night
first time I remember being really afraid
and they were pounding on her door
my older sister holding me as I cried
that?s when all the trouble began
I dreamt I was running down the road, held up in the air,
with nothing else in sight
and it was, hotter than hell
bright sun blazing in a cloudless blue sky, as behind me rolled
a burning hot boulder, as big as our house
now I?m 39 years old, and I finally realized
that boulder was my own flesh and blood
that?s when all the trouble began
yeah with nowhere to turn
I was a scared little kid
so I did what i was told
and I never really knew what my oldest sister did
to make my mom and dad explode
course she never did nothing at all
now I?m lonely and cold, that?s what you get living one step ahead
I?m gonna stand my ground, get bolder with that boulder
see if burns and crushes me
I?ve been bought and sold, and given myself away to anyone who?d take me
I?m gonna sit on this stairs, yeah I?m going way back, back to
where the trouble began
yeah that?s when all the trouble began
