Story Behind The Song
I was really upset one night about this series of arguments and frustration I was experiencing with a close friend of mine that happened to be in the same band as I at the time. It was like 1 or 2am and I just grabbed my guitar and all of these feelings I had about the situation just kind of came out. It was kind of a mini milestone for me.

Lyrics
You better bite that tongue, boy.
That's a lot of shit running out your mouth.
You better cut that temper,
You can't have a mad fist when you're calling the shots.
And victims don't get to complain,
When they've got a whole case to satisfy.
But, even if you believed in god,
we both know.
God wouldn't believe in you.
You're searching for love,
but it's in your grave.
I hope to god that you learn to say, Amen,
Boy.
You were never my cherie,
never wanted you to be from the start, boy.
But now you claim you can judge me,
well why don't you start off with yourself, boy?
You're not a saint.
I've seen you give yourself away,
and not to god, boy.
And if I'm not good enough, then what's that make you?
A miniscule of faltered love.
But, even if you believed in god,
we both know.
God wouldn't believe in you.
You're searching for love,
but it's in your grave.
I hope to god that you learn to say, Amen,
Boy.
Keep your head up high.
Don't bruise your pride.
Keep swallowing the beliefs that you swear you deny.
But, even if you believed in god,
we both know.
God wouldn't believe in you.
You're searching for love,
but it's in your grave.
I hope to god that you learn to say, Amen,
Boy.
