Story Behind The Song
The music came first. I wanted something driving and powerful, and got it finished in a "fit" of creativity, I guess you might call it. It felt like that anyway. The lyrics seemed to fit the music, which suggested anger or frustration to me. When we got the arranging stage, Timmy and I discussed using the "wa-wa" sound because I'd heard it on several new recordings. It seemed to drive the song even more, and when Ashley first sang it live, I knew we had something. Anyway, Mike as usual did an excellent job putting things together in the studio, and the harmonies came last. Most of the harmonies were figured out after a few beers, so I think another type of "fit" was happening in my brain. Hey, any way that works is fine with me. Well almost. It took a lot of Advil to work off the fit the next morning.
Song Description
Solid driving groove provided by Mark Liuzza, and inspired vocals from Ashley Lemmler, and grungy wa-wa guitar. Timmy Baudier make this song one of the more powerful ones of the demo. About a relationship gone sadly awry. When communication breaks down and can't be recovered, it's only a waiting game before things fall apart.

Lyrics
Sitting cross-legged in a chair
Mind dancing with total despair
I cannot lead when you knock me to my knees
With every feeling laid bare
Waited Too Long
Waited Too Long
Don't look for me, I'm already gone gone gone
Waited too long
Waited too long
As we're waiting in the dark before the dawn
Chasing the strain in your voice
Cutting through all other noise
You're feeling the same
Maybe I'm the one who's changed
Keeping the Faith nevermore
Waited Too Long....
Waited Too Long
As we're wading in the dark
Before the long awaited dawn
