Story Behind The Song
This is not really apparent in the song, but what it is actually about is a guy I know who killed himself. When I grew up my best friend lived accross the street with his family & his brother. There father was a real bastard and he used to make these guys feel like shit. So they ended up being in some sorta wierd race to see who was gonna be the one to kill themselves first. The older brother won the race. He went to N.C. and shot himself in the shoulder (guess he was aiming for his head and missed??) Anyway, while he is dying he calls his mom on the phone and explains what happens. So his mom says, "You gotta hang up so I can call 911 and then I'm gonna call you right back". So then she calls 911 but when she tries to call him back he never answers the phone and he dies. All of this is in the song, but not in so many words...
Song Description
A dynamic tune with strong male vocals and cool guitar riffs. This tune could be an anthem for a football team. There is drive and energy pushing the listener across the line.

Lyrics
Across the Line
© 2004 James McMillan, Aaron Miller
VERSE 1
Many times I walked with you and we were fine
We weave a web and then we climb
You said that it would all be fine, Oh yeah man
And we?d draw the lines
But tonight I?ll take a long trail homeward instead
And redraw the line
CHORUS
Cross the line, yeah
I cross the line and I will fly
Across the line, sing mama and say goodbye
Across the line, yeah
Across the line and I will fly
VERSE 2
Oh brother, can you help me back to my head?
I?m drifting out of life?s ocean tides
I traveled a while till we met
Let?s talk a while
Many times I?d walk with you and we were fine
But not tonight
CHORUS
BRIDGE
Hey Maria it?s nice to see ya
But-a hey Maria, I?m not ready for you
I?m not ready for you ?
VERSE 3
Oh mama can you help me back to my head
I?m drifting out on your ocean wide
I made a long call and she said
You gotta hold the line
Hold the line, hold that line, Hold That Line!
You gotta hold the line
But tonight I take the last train outta my mind
And redraw the lines
CHORUS
