One Tree Hill

Story Behind The Song

When I gaze out of my study window I look up a gently undulating hills covered in green grass with cows grazing happily. One of the hills has a single lone tree on it. I've often climbed those hills with my kids and the views at the very top are spectacular, taking in the whole city of Melbourne, the bay, mountains; you can see for about 70Km (50 miles). One day I will grab my laptop and a portable keyboard and sit under that one lone tree on that hill and make some music. Take the weight of the world off my shoulders for just a little while. This song is about retreating to a special place. Lyrics have been written but yet to be recorded.

Song Description

This is one of my favorite tracks because of the piano line and the relaxed feel of the tune. It is a work in progress - it needs less busy drums and more space, but I've shared it now in its unfinished state because it appeals to me so much.
