Reassurance

Story Behind The Song

I wrote this song many years ago for my mother who was always there for her five sons and always an inspiration to me. She would be there for you no matter what and her belief in her children was complete.

An appreciation for all the times a mother is there for her children no matter what the issue or the miles that separate them.

Reassurance

Music and Words by: Ken Morse Copyright 2003/4

Called my momma long distance yesterday morning

Said hi how are you I?m doing fine

She said I?ve been listening to the radio

To hear one of your songs come on some time

You remember your dad and how he loved his music

You know the reason you surely know why he?s gone

Don?t you worry I?ll be listening to the radio

Every day till I hear one of your songs

(Chorus)

When I?m down and lonesome then I?ll call her

She gives me reassurance every time

And though I?m getting older and I call myself a man

I love her and it?s great to say she?s mine

I remember when she?d come and see me playing

Some of those downtown lonesome kind of bars

She?d talk to the bartender and have a drink or two

She?d say that?s my son up there, some day he?ll be a star

(Chorus)

When I?m down and lonesome then I?ll call her

She gives me reassurance every time

And though I?m getting older and I call myself a man

I love her and it?s great to say she?s mine

Well listen Mom, I gotta hang up the phone now

Yes I?m doing well and I?m eating just fine

I didn?t want to tell her as I hung up that damn phone

That call just cost me my last dime

(Chorus)

When I?m down and lonesome then I?ll call her

She gives me reassurance every time

And though I?m getting older and I call myself a man

I love her and it?s great to say she?s mine

When I?m down and lonesome then I?ll call her

She gives me reassurance every time

And though I?m getting older and I call myself a man

I Still love her and it?s great to say she?s mine
