Story Behind The Song
I have always loved the song - "Summertime". We have a summer place charming but rustic which has been in the family for 60 years. The flood plain it is located on is going to be turned into a park for the community. This song is in memory of that place
Song Description
This song is about those many hours of peace and calm I have received in the summer. Actually, I do not like the oppressive heat of summer but this song reflects on the change of pace which can be so beneficial during the summer. It also shows the changes - there is a lot of variety of weather during the summer - sun and rain - and both can be wonderful. And love often grows during this time. The instruments depicts the variety of this season - the singing of the classical violin juxtaposed against the strong sounds of the electric guitar.
