Gator 'n Me

Story Behind The Song

I used to have a picture of a guy waist deep in swampy water, looking worried, and with about a half dozen alligators closing in. Somewhere along the line, I realized I wasn?t going to drain the swamp, the gators weren?t going away, and I better figure out how to deal with it. This was a start.

Song Description

Lyrics

CHORUS
I got caught by a big old alligator, I got caught but I?m doing just fine
I got caught by a big old alligator, you ain?t gonna hear me whine
Now some folks say can?t beat no alligator, some folks say, "Boy run real hard,
Gator?s the one with the winning hand, best thing fold, lay down your cards"
CHORUS
Now I ended up with a different approach, turns out gator ain?t such a bad guy
We?re drinking beer and eating some wings, looking for names written in the sky
CHORUS

Now I ended up with a different approach, turns out gator ain?t such a bad guy
We?re drinking beer and eating some wings, looking for names written in the sky
Spoken
Yeah gator ain?t so bad
Once you get to know him
His eating habits do worry me some
But hey, he bought the first round
