The song is kind of an overview of society. All of our accomplishments, our dreams, goals, the things that we acquire don't mean anything really. We spend so much time and energy acquiring stuff for ourselves that we're not paying any attention to how it's affecting our planet. But it doesn't really matter anyway, because everything dies.
