Story Behind The Song
Written while travelling across the country with JEL. Having grown up in a city, I wondered what kind of person I would have been like had I grown up in a small town. Would I have even had the guts to leave? The Statue of Liberty was the seed.
Song Description
Optomistic and observant and full of hope, (maybe false hope) this acoustic number features a quick and tasty middle solo and some great percussion accents.

Lyrics
Long Green Hair
waiting alone on a train
how long will this take?
will she figure me out?
will have to return what was mine to take?
time runs away out of reach
from bottom to top
she'll close the doors behind me
but there's a bum passed out, a living breathing doorstop
waiting alone behind a sheet of class
she stare's at me blankly, what's your purpose here?
so now your concerned - tell me why you ask.
were you under the impression
that you'd come such a long way
now I might just be guessing
but to you it's just another long dull day
your pleated skirt did they put
all the pennies in the right place
you didn't ask for gold you get what you serve
and all too fast you've lived and learned that
it's all about face
their allegiance to you
was it all that you expected
indifference seeps from the hundreds of thousands of souls
that you've protected
vaulting sky that wraps you in, everything I see
everything I see
everything I wanna be
is in glory and long green hair
