What I Know

I thought I might be the one
To find the buried treasure
And I'd dig it up and I'd take home
And I'd give it all away

I thought I might be the one
The one to find the answer
To the question that's been questioned
So it's not questioned anymore

---Chorus---
But I know, what everybody knows
That I know
That everybody knows what I know
Everybody goes their own way
-- --- --- --
And I thought I was kind of special
In a way not known before
But time is like a teacher
With her chalk upon the board

I can try real hard and remember
To forget what I won't recall
But my heart will feel the burden
Of the message on the wall

-Repeat Chorus-

There are times that I can feel your pain
And I wish that I could save you
But I realize, through the cloudy skies
That I can't stop the rain

But I can cry anytime I need to
And I can smile so I won't complain
I can hold on to that thought or not
And I can laugh through that pouring rain

-Repeat Chorus- x2

Good story and so true

good balance nice harmony sounds like nashville to me

Nice country/folk tune. Positive message.

Easy-going folk song with memorable hook, easy to understand lyrics, fun to listen to. "Everybody goes their own way." That's a pretty universal truth. Love the vocals and female background vocal, nicely mixed. Great instrumentation!

Songs like this make my day. Been running into a lot of them lately. Subject, very necessary right now. Melody, been around, nothing wrong with it coming again. Fine harmony. Very nice to hear that deeper voice in lead. Over the top fills. Yeah I liked it, I believe, and I hope everyone else will to.

Polished recording of a well executed song.

I like the sound of the drums and the lead guitar - the voice sounds a lot like Charile Pride and that's pretty cool, I really like the female backing vocals as well.

A great idea for a song - the singer's realization that he isn't as special or powerful as he thought he was - that he's just an ordinary human being, more or less like everybody else. What's especially nice about the way this is done is that the singer communicates that it's OK not to be special, that one can be endearing, loving, and unique, even though one isn't "special" in the sense of being a genius, able to make everything right, discover the final answer to age-old questions, etc.. Beautiful profound lyrics. Beautifully done.

I know that your songs is great thats what i know brother. I like the professional mix in the song sounds great love it.And also the song writing good job.

nicely done, a real authentic feel to it throughout.
