My Garden of LIfe

I had three sisters, I had no brother
Sometimes a father and Sometimes a mother, yeah
I had a best friend, till she moved away
I learned a lesson I relived today, so I
Smile when I'm happy, cry when I'm sad
Even a good thing can turn out all bad, oh~~
--Refrain--
I once saw through the eyes of my youth lord
And I can hear it calling my name
But I can't live with those lies anymore
All of my reasons have changed
--------------------
Some keeping secrets, some telling lies
I'm holding back all the tears in my eyes, yes and
Who to believe in, who do you trust
Who can you turn to , when you've just had enough, oh~~

--Refrain--
As I look through the eyes of my age now
Things just, don't look quite the same
And I can't live with their lies anymore
Even the seasons must change
------------------
I have a husband, he has a wife
We have some children and a wonderful life, yes and,
Sometimes we're happy and sometimes we're sad
All in all, well it's the best I could have, oh~~

---Refrain--
As I dig in my garden of life, oh
The colors do constantly change
Some of the flowers, they come and they go
Only the few shall remain

As I dig in my garden of life, oh
The colors do constantly change
Some of the flowers, they come and they go
Only the true shall remain

I like how the lead vocals and backing vocals blend together, I also like the drums and the lead guitar solo.

Oh, this is difficult for me. The lyrics are clever, well composed, the voice is easy and plummy and very pleasant, with deep tones that vibrate beautifully. But the lyrics are so sanguine and resigned about life and living and the knocks and perks that befall us. Even the good things are just so so, and we take it as it comes. It is a very nice song, just slightly 'dark'. An acceptance of your life as it is. I am glad the song mentions the flowers.

Very nice song. I like the fact that it is a universal song that most people can relate to. Also, it is a simple, mellow song that bridges the gap between being a "personal song" and a "universal song". Nice arrangement and the instrumentation is solid. Singer has a mellow, pitch perfect voice and a pleasant home-spun quality to it.

nice entry, guitar and subtle before vocal came in. good potential to the writing here. better production and lead vocal would help this allot IMO. liked the harmony lines and the fiddle as well as the lead guitar quite nicely done.

interesting lyrics, nice guitar solo

The music is really great, love the guitar solo. The arrangement is lovely and the melody is catchy.

Lovely lush guitar sound and guitar solo. The backing vocals work really well. Clever lyrical idea with the flowers coming and going. Nice understated percussion.

nice lyrics and message to this song. Arrangement is very good and orchestration is understated and very supportive of the melody. The mix is well balanced. Nicely produced.

Really (pleasant) atmospheric song.......but with a hard message......nice fiddle......good guitar break........
