Lyrics

"HOMETOWN HERO"

(Verse 1)
CAUGHT UP IN THIS MOMENT
I HAVE FINALLY FACED THE TRUTH
AS I STARE DOWN AT YOUR CASKET DRAPED
RED WHITE AND BLUE

YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN
MY BRAVE COURAGEOUS SON
REST IN PEACE HERE WITH YOUR BROTHERS
HERE IN ARLINGTON

I KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO HEAVEN
CAUSE YOU SPENT YOUR TIME IN HELL

(Chorus)
HOMETOWN HERO WE SALUTE YOU
HOMETOWN HERO
HOMETOWN HERO WE WILL MISS
YOU WILL ALWAYS BE
OUR HOMETOWN HERO

(Verse 2)
YOUR LETTERS TELL THE STORY
OF THE HELL THAT YOU WENT THROUGH
THEN YOU LOST YOUR LIFE IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE
MY WORST NIGHTMARE COME TRUE

YOU WERE THE SPIRIT OF AMERICA
BORN IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE
SON OF THE SOUTH YOU DIED TOO YOUNG
BUT YOUR MEMORY LIVES ON WITH ME

I KNOW THAT YOU ARE LISTENING
SO LISTEN TO MY REBEL YELL

(Chorus)
HOMETOWN HERO WE SALUTE YOU
HOMETOWN HERO
HOMETOWN HERO WE WILL MISS
YOU WILL ALWAYS BE
OUR HOMETOWN HERO

(Bridge)
EVERY DAY I SIT IN CHURCH
I BOW MY HEAD AND PRAY
PLEASE DEAR LORD DON'T LET ANOTHER
LET ANOTHER
SOLDIER, SOLDIER
DIE TODAY

NO NO NOT ANOTHER SOLDIER
NO, NO, NO, NO
PLEASE NOT ONE MORE SOLDIER

(Chorus)
HOMETOWN HERO WE SALUTE
HOMETOWN HERO
HOMETOWN HERO WE WILL MISS YOU
YOU WILL ALWAYS BE
OUR HOMETOWN HERO
