Story Behind The Song

I wrote this tune at a frustrated point in my life where i felt like a total hypocrite. i would give people advice about the same thing i was going through and it would help them. but when it came down to me following that advice in my own life-i had some trouble. instead of focusing on the solution--i was allowing myself to remain immersed in the problem. i was playing the same scene over and over again in my life. yeah-it had to do with love. most of my material is born through love. but this song is about taking love for what it is and what it is not. it's bout doing yourself justice and staying in tune to the world-no matter how much anguish you are in. you always get what you want in some form or another if you open up and let shit happen-let it breathe. the metaphor for "driving" came about because i always envisioned my life as this large unchartered road map. but instead of hotels and McDonalds and whatever else--there are people. some who we love--some who we hate. whoever they are-these are the people that we fill our lives with--if even for a few seconds. in between these people--a plethora of roads--more roads than we could ever travel. time and experience-life and love are wasted when we travel down the same roads over and over again-especially roads that don't make us better. i remind myself to keep moving--stay focused on the roads that await me. the songs that await me.
