Lyrics

Only Hope
c)2009, 2012 words and music by Warren Hein

Am I worth your time
Or have I drained your hope for me
I can see you're tired
Do you think your cowardly lion has no reprieve

I know this trip through Oz was forced to be your cause
But someday I leave this room
That wicked witch she's not dead
She's flyin' circles 'round my bed
And she still has the broom

Curled in that dim lamp light
You're my only hope tonight
You're my only hope tonight
You're my only hope
My only hope

Can I ask you this
Will you stay and christen me when I'm free?
Tell me you can wait
'Cuz outside those gates tonight is everyone but me

I've got to pay attention
That white sleeve parts the curtain
And he's no wizard to me
His best intentions and prescribed inventions
I know I know still can't help me sleep

Interesting story, shades of OZ... vocal well done in the style you do, could hear your harmony...music fits the song...well done...

good song . who knowsa about the market out but i like it.

This is certainly different ! I'm sure it won't be to everyone's taste, but I rather enjoyed it .

Really like this Warren!! Cool use of the WOZ metaphor! I really like your vocals (always).....lots of emotion! You've got a definite style and I dig it!!

I've never heard a song with a wizard of oz theme, so this is a first and gets high marks for originality. The song has a dark feel to it with a witch and her broom, cowardly lion, dim light, lack of sleep. The artist does an excellent job of painting a depressing picture. The vocal is a bit spooky and breathy. Definitely a creative piece. Nice instrumentation, good mix. Believable performance.

Interesting song with a lot going on...in a good way. I liked the arrangement a lot, lots of light and shade with a good build. I also liked the live sound of drums and guitar. thanks!

Unusual approach, but nicely done.

Cool mood throughout the song. Enjoyed the vocal tone on the whole

I think music quality of recording sounds good.

Interesting composition. Nice work on the guitars, vocal is well supported. Melodious piano even with those simple lines, still cool. Song develops nicely, particularly liked the changes in groove, kept me interested. As much as I can tell, the mix could be improved. Overall, well made song.
