Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song at a very uncertain point in my life. I had just finished a job I thought I was destined for which gave me many doubts for the future.
Song Description
It was a general look at my life and how it seems to have been laced with small bouts of happiness that unfortunately don't last.

Lyrics
Happiness In Small Doses:
The people pass by me
Staring intently
At a face that never seems to fit.
Things were good for a while
I could raise a smile
My direction was perfectly lit.
Things feel different now
As I gracefully bow
And move off into the wings.
The intrepid self-hoaxer
But I know it ain?t over
Until the fat lady sings.
C:
Why is it that
Some people come up smelling of roses?
Good things come from all their proposes?
A door opens when another one closes?
But with me it?s happiness in small doses.
There was so much I enjoyed
Hope?s been destroyed
As the shit hits the fan.
What else can I do?
I ain?t got a clue,
As I sweep up my life with a pan.
Nothing on the horizon
Anxiety rising
Space as far as the eye can see.
Where did I go wrong?
I?m falling headlong
There must be something else I can be.
C:
Why is it that
Some people come up smelling of roses?
Good things come from all their proposes?
A door opens when another one closes?
But with me it?s happiness in small doses.
Lead Break.
C:
It seems that
My final diagnosis,
Before my lid is shut and closes
When my soul overexposes,
Is happiness in small doses.
Happiness in small doses.
Happiness in small doses.
Happiness in small doses.
Happiness in small doses.
