Story Behind The Song
I wrote the main lick of this song in the same breath that I thought of the name- Perpetual Bliss. I knew what I wanted the song to be- but I still had no song. I wrote the lyrics stopped at multiple red lights- sporadically overwhelmed with ideas and imagery. Inspired by how I met my wife- I approach the lyrics from different stages in a relationship: before we met, while we were together, and as if we never met. I wanted to get across the idea that "I'm glad it timed out right- that you were where you were and I was where I was- and that it could be as special as I always hoped it would be."
Song Description
We make many decisions that affect the course our lives take. This song is inspired by those decisions that allowed you to meet that one person that ended up giving you all you never knew you needed. In the end, you can look back and see where you went right - how you could have easily went wrong- and you're so thankful that you followed your instincts- which led you to lead a life best described as "Perpetual Bliss."

being caught between
the laughter and woes
before we met
so it goes
eyes were open up
so wide they was closed
you don't know what you want
till it's over
i'm so glad you did
what you had to do
'cause I been holding out for you
i missed so much of you
the way that you were
i thank my lucky stars
that it was you
and not her
a dozen times
i shook my head
hoping that I had you instead
living in a state of perpetual bliss
i like to travel places
far and remote
skip, step, and a throw of the stone
now waking up
to your beautiful face
is my absolute favorite place
some people don't see the light
too many clouds around
you make the time to smile
