Story Behind the Song

Was going through a difficult relationship with someone I really loved and realized that he was in love with me and with someone else. He made me feel like I was the center of his world and his soul mate when all the while he was loving someone else and making her feel that way too. That sparked the hook then I sat with my writing partner and finished the song.

Lyrics

V1
How do I fight the war in me that's raging?
How do I hush the girl
Who wants to believe
Didn't see it comin
I was hit on my blind side
I thought no one knew
You better than me

Hook
You called me
Honey, baby sweetie pie
On broken lips
So full of lies
My heart fell like a stone
When I heard those same three words
You said to me
You said to her
So sincerely
Never felt so all alone

Verse 2
If this was a story
What a tragic ending
You couldn't trust your heart
You just couldn't see
So go and settle for
What you think is gonna feel right
She's just an easy version of me

Hook
You called me
Honey, baby sweetie pie
On broken lips
So full of lies
My heart fell like a stone
When I heard those same three words
You said to me
You said to her
So sincerely
Never felt so all alone
oooo, oooooh
oooo, oooh, oh
