Story Behind The Song
I sometimes pass people waiting for the bus to take them to work on Monday mornings at the bus-stop around the corner from my house. So I started to think about these strangers' lives which were unknown to me. The working title was therefore 'Waiting For A Bus on Mondays'.

Lyrics
You go out on the town again
And drink yourself to oblivion
It's not like that on Mondays
It's not like dreaming on a beach
Or staring out to sea, no, no
It's not like that on Mondays
Home by six
You cook a meal
Settle down to watch TV
Check the phone
Call a friend
Waiting for the day to end
You hate to smoke
But you love cigarettes
So you go for a walk round the block instead
It's not like that on Mondays
You meet your Mamma make a secret deal
You need to tell her how you feel
It's not like that on Mondays
Home by six
You cook a meal
Settle down to watch TV
Check the phone
Maybe call a friend
Wishing that your heart would mend
It's just like that on Mondays. It's just like that on Mondays
It's just like that on Mondays
