Song Description

"It is a story of ups and downs that is so true of many, if not all, relationships. Through the down periods there would be bouts of insecurity and uncertainty in regards to what the future holds, followed by surges of optimism when things are going well. The context of time was also important to us; you want the periods of doubt to be over quick, but the spells of bliss to last and never run out". Joanna Szymanska 'Comfort Me' features Joanna's dynamic, vibrant yet soulful vocals with Fabian's mellifluous harmonies, backed by John's and Fabian's layered atmospheric guitars, with special guests Andrew Challoner on bass and Mauro Resta on drums. The track was composed by John Nolan, written by Joanna and John and produced by multi-award winning songwriter, composer and producer Jeff Cripps (The Vines, The Atlantics) and mastered by Don Bartley (Abba, Cold Chisel, INXS, Sex Pistols, David Bowie, Duran Duran).

Story Behind the Song

'Comfort Me' is a thought provoking song that's about a couple in a long-distance relationship with shared feelings of insecurity, uncertainty and an ever growing long for reunion.

Lyrics

Comfort Me

Seeing shadows in every word
It's paralyzing
Drowning, deeper more insecure
Won't you revive me?
Time, well it slows things down
If on my face appears a frown
And in those times, when I need

[Chorus]
Will I see it in your eyes
As life cuts you open wide
Baby will you wanna comfort me
Well I don't really know
When there's nowhere left to go
Baby will you wanna comfort me

Hoping, waiting for you to call
Secretly smiling
Knowing, nothing has changed at all
As you say you love me
I wish time, could slow things down
And I would know that you're around
In those times, when I need

[Chorus]

Boy you're always on my mind
I can't live without your smile
And I want you by my side
So get closer don't be shy
Comfort me, comfort me

See the sparkle in my eye
When you're lying by my side
So get closer don't be shy
Coz we're running out of time
Comfort me, comfort me

I wish time, could slow things down
And I would know that you're around
In those times, when I need

[Chorus] x2

Comfort me (repeat)
