Story Behind The Song

I went out one night with friends in Hollywood, and I had visited Griffith Park earlier in the day. I put the two events together and wrote a song about them.

An ode to the Hollywood nightlife that takes place at the foot of the hills, including that of Griffith Park.

The haze rolls off the hilltops and
doesn't plan to make a stop
until the nightfall

passes by the cops
that wait outside our favorite bar
not too far from our favorite observatoire.

My car can't go too fast
but that's alright, for we'd like to make the night last.
I'm in no hurry to see the hazy haze again.
I drive the car around the block
I put the car in park
and make use of the lock.
I'd hate a break-in to break this perfect evening.
