Song Description

"Mystery" is song of longing for romantic fulfillment. The ambiance of the evening invokes a percussive and driving fantasy about how the protagonist will meet her love.

Story Behind the Song

I first decided to write Mystery after learning the beledi rhythm on the zills at a bellydancing class.

Pale and quiet moon
Sapphire sky
Stars that drip with fire
Lilies shed perfume
As evening breathes a sigh
And joins in the nocturnal choir

I have dreamed of you
On these nights
With an emptiness inside
Were you here and true
I wouldn't try to fight
Just quietly confide:

Your eyes, the tempest
My blood, the sea
And you can rescue me
Your eyes, the tempest
My blood, the sea
Don't stay a Mystery

Oh baby, I don't even know your name
But I can picture just the way we'll meet
Your eyes of coal will smolder, enflamed
As they encounter mine in summer's heat

And baby, I know exactly how I'll feel
As they unveil emotions deep within
And when we finally speak, dear,
You'll reveal that you've been waiting just as I have been

(repeat chorus)
