Story Behind The Song
I had a picture in my mind of the inside of an ice cave with the light penetrating the ice. This led me to the hot-cold idea of burning desire / cold rejection or coldness followed by burning pain -- and I loved the almost-oxymoron "snowburn." I didn't write this song with anyone in mind, although I've since witnessed the agony of "snowburn."
Song Description
The singer is "talking" to a friend who is suffering from burning desire and aching need for his lost lover, who is coldly rejecting him.

Lyrics
Blue light in an ice cave
Nothing but cold with a lesson to learn
You're thinkin' this ain't no way for a lover to behave
Like the seasons her lovin' has turned
You ache to bask in her warmth
For her lovin' touch you yearn
You're thinkin' that there must be a way
But her lovin' is cold and left you snowburned
Frozen inside
In the dark of the night
In her dazzlin' light, you're blind
Blue light is fadin' to freezing
Your glimmer of hope is no longer real
And you'd do anything in the world to release it
This tension of love and loss you feel
You ache to bask in her warmth
For her lovin' touch you yearn
You're thinkin' that there must be a way
But her lovin' is cold and left you snowburned
Frozen inside
In the dark of the night
In her dazzlin' light, you're blind
You ache to bask in her warmth
For her lovin' touch you yearn
You're thinkin' that there must be a way
But her lovin' is cold and left you snowburned
Frozen inside
In the dark of the night
In her dazzlin' light, you're blind
