Lyrics

Mama said son girl, you?re coming with me
We?re goin? down, down, down south to NYC
You gotta show the world you?re bringin? something new
Make no mistake about it, they?re gonna see it in you

?Cause I see the stars in your eyes
I know that you will make it if you reach for the sky
But that don?t mean you don?t have to pay your dues
Eventually you will see you can make your own rules

Back to reality it?s time to play their game
Through all this insanity is the way to fame

Even if you don?t win this time around
Just don?t let it get you down
And they?ll see what you are
Even if you don?t get the crown
You know you?ll go far
You?re still my brightest star

We all have dreams but some of them fade
Some people sell their souls, give it all away
Their true life story no one will ever see
?Cause they hide behind perfection
And their hearts can?t be free

?Cause I?ve searched for all of my life
For a way to tell the difference
Between my heart and my mind
So just don?t be fooled by a game
Where nothing is for certain
But I know you?ll find your way

You?re stronger than gravity
Don?t let them drag you down
You?ve got the magic key
You have to believe

Even if you don?t win this time around
Just don?t let it get you down
And they?ll see what you are
Even if you don?t get the crown
You know you?ll go far
You?re still my brightest star
