What Else Is New?

Song Length 7:16 Genre Rock - Funk

Lyrics

As my eyes go 'round, go 'round the room, I notice that if this is all it takes, I'll have to learn to depreciate.
And if time is an illusory compulsion in this ever expanding and collapsing reality, then I'm going back to bed.

Guess it's evident I just stepped in it and dug myself a hole.
Guess it's pretty clear, that's why I'm sitting here; I'm dusting off my soul.
Why is it I can't make up my mind?
Guess I've always been content with wasting my time.

I'm at a lack when drawn into conversations; I find I lose my language, and I'm better keeping my mouth shut, except I'm no good at keeping my mouth shut.
And the man on the moon's looking down on me, keeping an eye on me, invading my privacy. Can he see inside of me? I don't mean to be, but I know that I've been babbling again.

What else is new with you?

Wasted a whole day trying to think of a new way to say the same thing I always say. Never make any progress, brain storming: the same list of issues and insecurities and dislikes and impurities.
So I fill in the space with something really vague, like "violently embrace the politician molesting your leg." I let the television hypnotize my ambition, and it's time to go back to bed.

If I sit around long enough I start to think of ridiculousness like "love and happiness don't exist" and "none of it matters" and "nobody likes me" and "they're all out to get me." I'm paranoid.
And things start to matter than never did before, and before I know it, I've driven myself further into depression. Nobody wants a self-esteem deficient musician hangin' around. It's bad taste.

What else is new with you?
And none of it matters...

I spend days in a row trusting the clock in my room to let me know that days have gone by. Shave? No. Shower? No. It takes a few hours just to sit up and throw on some pants, and then I make love to Eleanor.
And I complain about my job and that my roommates suck, and everything I write sucks, and that I eat too much, and that I watch television too much, and I sleep too much, and I complain too much. What else is new?
