I just got back from lunch with some old friends, and we're still pretty close.
We argued about who argues the most,
And even after all these years I find it hard to resist the temptation to stab them.
And on my other hand there's this woman who drives me insane.
I barely know her and I don't feel like stabbing her, I feel like deconstructing her brain,
And when I think of the bigger picture and how we instinctively hurt the ones we love,

My mind wandered back and forth between that woman and my friends,
And I accidentally realized what life was all about and then forgot it.

And there is little if anything I'm not sure of.
But there is so many things I'm wrong about,
And for my kingdom I can't weed them out.

It's not the principle of the thing, it's the precedent.
And if it's not one thing it's another.
And if it seems like today we have nothing,
Remember yesterday we had each other.

And on the up side there's always tomorrow.
And somewhere over one of these rainbows
Is an omniscient, abstract apparition saying, "hmm, way it goes."

It embarrasses me to admit it, but there's still a picture of you hanging on my wall,
And though it used to mean something, it is now merely habitual that I throw darts at it every chance I get.
