Story Behind The Song
This song was inspired by all the changes I've seen in the town where I grew up in Pennsylvania. There used to be lots of fields and open areas to ride bikes and play ball and they've slowly been paved over and replaced by convenient stores, parking lots, or strip malls. I guess it's kind of the same sentiment as Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi".
Song Description
This song talks about an old abandoned elementary school where I used to play with my friends when we were kids. We had a lot of good memories of playing there and now it's gone.

Lyrics
Used to be a place to play after school
But time doesn't always play by the rules
It slips away and it begins to crack
And pretty soon there's no looking back
At that old stone wall
Man, we used to have ourselves a ball
At the old stone wall
I remember playing off the wall
Riding my bike and taking a fall
Yeah, but I didn't care, 'cause I was having fun
Yeah, me and the gang and everyone
At that old stone wall
Man, we used to have ourselves a ball
At the old stone wall
Waiting for the bus in the morning
Playing in the afternoon
How could we know that it would end so fast
How could we know that we would grow up so soon
Used to be a place to play after school
But time doesn't always play by the rules
It slips away and it begins to crack
And pretty soon there's no looking back
At that old stone wall
Man, we used to have ourselves a ball
At the old stone wall
