Story Behind The Song
Rise Up With Me is the song that initially defined the overall sound of the band and helped draw into focus the band's musical objectives. Originally written on acoustic guitars, the song developed quickly and became a band favorite. An early version of this song was recorded at East End Studios in Rochester, NY, though the track failed to capture the intensity that is achieved during live performances. The band re-recorded the current track with Kevin Rucker and is very satisfied with the results.
Song Description
Rise Up With Me opens with an almost eerie finger-picked acoustic riff, which lays the groundwork for another unconventional lead guitar line. As with other Barakus songs, this song relies on ambient verses to accentuate its powerful choruses; the band builds up the intensity as it moves through the song, and does so by adding new layers to the arrangement.

Lyrics
Rise Up With Me
is the lead inside
are you scared you will sink when you should swim
open those eyes
or watch this train run over them
rise up now
put those feet into the ground
and these words
lift me up when I am down
Rise up with me
I?ll show you something you should see
Rise up with me
I?ll show you something you can be
is the lead inside
are you scared you will sink when you should swim
open those eyes
or watch this train run over them
Rise up with me
I?ll show you something you should see
Rise up with me
I?ll show you something you can be
I will show my pain
I will live in vain
just don?t photograph it
cause I might not be the same
Rise up with me
I will show my pain
I will live in vain
just don?t photograph it
cause I might not be the same
