Story Behind The Song
This song is the result of a nasty bout with writer's block. It is the title-track from the forth-coming release in fall 2011.
Song Description
Driving and dynamic, "Still Life" is a surreal song about song-writing. Shifting chord changes and a soaring melody create a sense of anticipation. The lyrics inspire the listener to wonder about the fuzzy line between imagination and reality.

Lyrics
The fan is spinning. The room is standing still. A picture hangs upon the wall. I'm not living. I am just a metaphor for life here on the couch- I am singing.
I am held down by the force of gravity. Like you, I stand upon the earth. My legs are weary. My spirit's giving out and I breathe in, and when I breathe out I am singing. Paperclips upon my desk suddenly begin to rise. Oh my god! I rub my eyes. My barbells and my records and my papers and my pencils are all floating, floating!
But you know that it is just a trick a skit a scheme to entertain you. And so I realize that in fact nothing can rise, and it all comes crashing down. I am in another mess. I best clean up before a guest arrives and wonders if I'm crazy. Maybe yes and maybe no, but before you judge me so just try... try a little singing.
