Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song after thinking about how strange it was to not hear airplanes in the skies over Atlanta for several weeks after the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Many people were afraid to travel and were thinking that the future looked bleak. I wanted to convey a sense of hope and encourage the listener to get on with their life, whatever their tragedy may be.
Song Description
The narrator of the song is trying to convince a friend/lover to break out of their dispair and face life again. He wants his friend to take a spontaneous trip on an airplane or to go anywhere for a change of scene and a chance to begin again.

Lyrics
GET OUT AGAIN
What did you have in mind?
Did you want to go somewhere?
Take a last minute flight
Well I?m up for anywhere
I won?t wait here anymore
Like my feet were bolted to the floor
(chorus)
We?ve got to get out again
We?ve got to get on the mend
We?ve got to get out again
Learn how to live again
It?s better we should try
Than to let it go
I?d rather fall sometimes
Than to never know
I?ll be with you until the world ends
It?s better to really live than to pretend
(chorus)
Jagged edges of your memory will cut you if you look too long
Take a minute to decide where we are going and let?s get it on
Get it on, get it on
I won?t wait here anymore
Like my feet were bolted to the floor
(chorus)
