Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song while driving home from a gig that was out of town. The band was asleep in the back of the van, the moon was full, and I was missing my wife.
Song Description
A man is driving through the night to get home to his family after being away on business for a few days. He thinks of them fondly and wishes he could get home sooner. The only thing he wants to do is close the distance between him and his home.

Lyrics
Drive
I wish you could see this
Trees are reaching through the mist
And the sky?s on fire
Dylan?s on the radio
Telling me I?ve gotta go
And he?s no liar
Until I get back home to you
The only thing I want to do is burn the miles
Give me a shot of cold moonlight
A yellow double line
The ocean on my right
And a star that I can wish upon tonight
I just wanna drive
Sleeping dreamers in the back
I?m racing trains on southern tracks-here I go
Caffeine drinks and memories
Wishing you were here with me speeds me on
Until I get back home to you
The only thing I want to do is burn the miles
Give me a shot of cold moonlight
A yellow double line
The ocean on my right
And a star that I can wish upon tonight
I just wanna drive
Drive right back to your lovin arms
Back to the place where I belong
Give me a shot of cold moonlight
A yellow double line
The ocean on my right
With an angel on my mind
I just wanna drive
Oooh I just wanna drive
