Story Behind The Song
It's imaginary, in terms of story line. But the feel comes from our beloved Robert Palmer and his song "Addicted To Love". This is, in a sense, a tribute to Robert Palmer, although I realize this doesn't really sound like a Robert Palmer song.
Song Description
Two friends became divided when one chose a path of unhealthy excesses (drugs) while the other went straight.

Lyrics
You were fun - but not for long
You had everything going for me - but not for too long
If you were as beautiful as you looked . . . if you were that beautiful
I might have fallen in love with you
But you changed, and I grew up
I bet you do the same old stuff
How long did you think I could go on and on?
Now, I wasn?t everything, but I was something to someone
You changed.
Don?t let Heaven get in your eyes
Don?t let Heaven get in your eyes
Don?t let Heaven get in your eyes
(Shoulda listened to good advice)
A good ride gone out of control
You had your foot to the floor - you?re on an endless roll
How long till we see you fly right off the world?
I thought you knew everything, but you?ve become such a stupid girl
You?ve changed
Don?t let Heaven get in your eyes
Don?t let Heaven get in your eyes
Don?t let Heaven get in your eyes
(Shoulda listened to good advice)
You were fun - but not for long
Wish you were here for some more, but you?re too gone
If you were as beautiful as you looked
If you were that beautiful, I might have fallen in love with you
You changed, and I grew up
I bet you do the same bad stuff
You were fun, but not for too long
You had everything going for me, but not for too long
You changed
You changed
You were fun
You were fun
You were fun
But not for too long
You changed
