Story Behind The Song
Now that I am getting older (56) I realize that life always throws us curveballs (bills to pay, feeling of lack of power, etc.) but we have to put everything in perspective and laugh and play. This is the first song I wrote. Now I laugh and play more.
Song Description
Getting older seems to have few advantages (for real). Getting a discount at IHOP is not enough. At a time when we thought we'd be on easy street we see bills and maybe more bills if our health deteriorates. Well, we have to put it all in perspective and laugh and play. Not always easy but a necessity!

Lyrics
I Don't Know Why
I don't know why the world has to be so cold
I don't know why I have to grow old
Maybe I should be more bold
But maybe I've just mellowed
Time to laugh
Time to play
Work is ok but
Laugh, time to play
I want to laugh
I want to play
Got some bills to pay
Seems I've nothing to say
Wait for the day
When it's ok
Time to laugh
Time to play
Wait for the day
When it's ok
Time to laugh
Time to play
Work is ok but
Laugh, time to play
I want to laugh
I want to play
