Story Behind The Song
I was stiing in my living room with an acoustic guitar and it just flowed out. Probably took 30 minutes to complete. I knew it was going to be an emotional hit with anybody who has kids or has been left to raise a child alone.
It's also a song that a lot of teen age kids can relate to and will hopefully have an impact on their choices in life.

Lyrics
Living My Life
©2005 Forrest Lee Bibbee Jr., BMI
A fast car and a tank of fuel
A young kid acting a fool
Drinkin been and skipping school
Living My Life
A cute girl on a summer night
Trying hard to get it right
We made love till the morning light
I was living my life
Mamma said it would be alright
If I?d be good and bide my time
But I couldn?t make up my mind
About living my life
17 and a father to be
A little money is all I need
Stealing foor from the grocery
To life my life
A baby?s born and it Looks like me but
I?m not ready for a family
I?m not done being wild and free
Living my life
I hit the road no where to go
Leaving everything that I know
Thinkin I could just start all over
Living my life
Cold nights on the city streets
Say a prayer before I sleep
Asking God to forgive me
For living my life
It?s too late to go back home
I guess I?m reaping what I?ve sewn
I?ve got a son I?ve never known
Living my life
I hope he doesn?t make the same mistakes
Selfishness is all it takes
A bad decision and a heart breaks
Living my life
Empty pockets and air to breathe
An empty shell is what?s left of me
I wouldn?t wish it on an enemy
Living my life
