As one of the original members of the BadBoy/Def Jam R&B group 112, Skot Free officialy began his career in music as a bass singer in the quartet. Songwriting soon followed, and shortly after leaving the group, Skot began cutting demos as an MC. While developing his writing style, he built his first pre-production studio 2001, and began recording and producing local Rap/Hip-Hop and R&B acts in Atlanta. With time in the studio with other well-established producers like Daron Jones (112, R-Kelly, Notorious BIG), Supa Dave West (De La Soul, Talib Kweli, Me shell Ndegeocello), and Saint Denson (Styles P), Skot Free has developed an impeccable work ethic, and has established himself among his peers as a go-to hit-maker in the Atlanta area for Rap, Pop, Rock, and R&B tracks and songs. While producing numerous mix-tapes and artists on different tracks, Skot Free has been developing his "ear", and has received much praise for his attention to detail, and ability to help develop new artists.
