Skeeter Van Meter is a singer/song-writer/guitarist/producer who has been performing professionally since 1986. Exploring the boundaries of American music, he has been involved with rock bands, folk/Americana/acoustic groups, up to 16 piece jazz/rock ensembles and country and bluegrass projects. Skeeter has enjoyed a 25-year long career that has included collaborations with some of the most respected local musicians and over 12 albums of original music, including a screenplay and musical score to the film "Yeti and the Big Feat", which prompted the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to invite him to perform there in 2000. Skeeter performed at The House of Blues twice and in 2012, he performed at Cleveland Browns Stadium before 2 NFL games with his 7 piece horn band, Spirit of '76. With over 150 published original songs, and performing regularly to support independent releases, Skeeter Van Meter always strives to put his own unique style and stamp on his musical adventures.

Skeeter Van Meter is a singer/song-writer/guitarist/producer who has been performing professionally since 1986. Exploring the boundaries of American music, Van Meter has been involved with rock bands(Electric Evergreen), folk/Americana/acoustic (Skeeter)16 piece jazz/rock ensembles(Spirit of '76), country and bluegrass( Black River Bluegrass Band), classical music as a member of Madrigals/Choir and also as "pit" guitarist on a long list of independent musical theater productions, assuming the role of musical director for both "Jesus Christ Superstar" and The Who's "Tommy". At the age of 15, Van Meter was asked to join a "working" blues band, DC & the Continentals, by guitarist, Duane "DC" Carnes , who later went on to play in blues legend, Robert Jr. Lockwood's band. This began a 25-year long career that has included collaborations with some of the most respected local musicians and over 12 albums of original music, including a screenplay and musical score to the film "Yeti and the Big Feat", which prompted the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to invite him to perform there in 2000. Van Meter was chosen by Guitar Center and The House of Blues in 2005, out of thousands of entries, for "Project Rock Star", featuring Cleveland's "top 10" original bands to perform at a showcase. In 2012, VanMeter was invited to perform at Cleveland Browns Stadium before 2 NFL games with his 7 piece horn band, Spirit of '76. He has also performed original music at prestigious venues such as the Cleveland Playhouse and the Beck Center for the Arts but also well-known local clubs like Brothers Lounge, the Winchester and Wilbert's. With over 150 published original songs, and performing regularly to support independent releases, Skeeter Van Meter always strives to put his own unique style and stamp on his musical adventures, regardless of the project.
