In the tradition of artists like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Ryan Adams, David Gray, etc., his music is moving, introspective, and passionate – with a sound somewhere between rock, folk, and pop. His debut album, “The Forgotten Door”, is an impressive first run, featuring tasteful accompaniments and interesting yet accessible arrangements. Definitely “an album” in the traditional sense, Sean’s songs weave a tale of love, heartbreak, and redemption into a tapestry of sound and emotion that is both moving and profound.

Sean Lathrop Bio

After spending years playing the streets and cafes between Portland, OR and New York City, Sean Lathrop emerges as an artist to watch with his debut album, “The Forgotten Door”.

Grammy-winning sound engineer Mark Johnson (for his work with Keb Mo’) lends his hands, as does percussionist and engineer Pete Caigan, whose past clients include Sarah Mclachlan, Lil’ John and others. The album was recorded at the former Bearsville Studios in Woodstock, NY, under the guidance of Ross Elliot, a 25-year music biz veteran with several successful acts under his belt and currently Senior VP of A & R at Relix Records.

“Sean Lathrop is a true poet who has created an album that is as good or better than most of what’s out there now. Great lyrics, killer band, suberb record.” Ron Lovely of All-Star Media and Music, LTD. www.allstarmedia.tv
