About Sarah

Sarah Hethcoat does what she says she is going to do. Driven with a force seldom seen in today's "lazy" artists, Sarah works hard at her craft every free moment of the day. While others are waiting for success to be handed to them, Sarah is busy creating her own. And this could not be more evident than in the many successes she has enjoyed in her short life.

Music is and has always been at the heart of the Hethcoat household. It connected them, generated happiness, and strengthened their bond. Sarah's deep-rooted creativity was first discovered and explored through her study of the piano. And while she exemplified a great deal of talent as a pianist, her musical journey would not end there ... Sarah wanted more.

At twelve Sarah began studying voice and truly started to excel. She soon found herself landing leading roles in the world of musical theatre. After appearing in over 25 musicals; including Civic Light Opera, Children's Theatre, Regional Theatre, and Touring Shows including London based productions; Sarah made a choice that would once again change her life.

As much as Sarah loved the stage, she felt she needed to venture outside of the characters she portrayed. She had her own stories to tell. And in the three short years Sarah has been writing, she has successfully done so; truly finding her own voice.

"I knew it was something I had to do, and I knew I could do it ... I simply needed to make the choice," Sarah says about her decision to stop doing theatre and pursue her own writing. "No one ever told me I could do it. No one said this is how. It was just a feeling that wouldn't go away ... I knew I had to try. Theatre had taught me the power of telling a good story, and that I had an ability to reach people through performance. I figured if I could apply what I'd learned in theatre to my own stories ... it would work. And so the journey began."

Jennifer Wicks: EMI Capitol says, " Sarah's songs blend sultry strength and softness with secretive depth wanting to be found out ..."

Evoking raw feeling and intensity, Sarah's sound is best described as Pop/Rock; with a danceable edge and energy. It's reminiscent of timeless pop-hooks with modern production. Maggie Martin of EMI Music Publishing says…"Fresh- Catchy- Sexy. The perfect debut EP. Finally, some decent pop music with an edge..."

What makes Sarah so special is that she doesn't have a contingency plan. It's not a matter of "if" she reaches her next destination, it simply is a matter of "when" and "who" will be the navigator.
