Ins and outs of Sandra Bunga...

Sandra Bunga (nee Sandra Pambu Bunga) was born in Rotterdam, Amsterdam in the Netherlands on June 22nd 1989. She was born to Miguel Bunga and Esperanca Ndombele. Sandra's father enlisted at the age of 17 to fight for his country in civil wars as well as the war of independence in his native land Angola in the mid to late 60's-70's. After participating in peacekeeping projects in other African countries, Miguel fled to Europe. Esperanca joined Miguel and both settled to start their family.

At a very young age Sandra had an imminent passion for music and loved to dance, especially to the african artists from Congo and Angola etc... But after the family immigrated to Canada on Vancouver Island, in the small town of Duncan she later discovered different genres and more anglophone music. She was introduced to 90's electronica as well as the rise of the early hip hop and r&b. By the time Sandra was nine years old, she came to realize she not only had a passion for music, but was intrigued by the idea of becoming an entertainer. It was in this when she first began to use music to learn English and imitate the voices of her favourite artists. Now in her early twenties she has released her self-titled debut EP Sandra Bunga.
