Rick started playing and writing songs at eleven. Passing for older, he began performing in clubs at sixteen. He has gigged as a solo act, a duo (with longtime best friend Scott Dietrick) and in bands (most notably Virginia Beach's The Gangster of Love). Now performing only part-time in the Richmond area, and having no problem passing for 21, Rick is once again focusing on songwriting and recording with new inspiration (two-year old and five-year old daughters).

The Rick Edward Melchor original style most likely fits the current AAA format with elements of folk, rock, country and blues. Rick brings a big voice to play that runs a two and one-half octave range that mixes in some blue-eyed soul.

Rick's main instrument is the voice followed by accoustic & electric guitars, bass and keyboards while dabbling in other stringed instruments.
