Starting out as a drummer Jesper Ranum quickly became a pioneer in the danish electronic music scene when he acquired one of the first synthesizers in the country.
After setting up his first home studio, Jesper co-founded the first danish all electronic band Nous Yto. The band was active on the danish alternative and punk scene playing gigs with Sods (later Sort Sol), Ballet Mechanique, Brats, Ads etc. culminating with the influential "Concert of the Moment" in Saltlageret Copenhagen in 1979.
Shortly after this he joined electronic new romantics act Scatterbrain for Scandinavian touring. Participated with members of Scatterbrain in the production of the first live multimedia experience in Denmark - the musical "Communication".
Co-founder of danish electronic rock act DeFilm, internationally signed to Epic-Portrait in New York. Touring and playing major festivals. After 2 albums the band split up. Simultaneous extensive work on Lars HUGs groundbreaking album "City Slang", merging poetry with rock music.
A long period of being the go-to guy for all things electronic meant involvement in a string of high-profiled danish rock albums.
This again led to the opening of Ranum's sophisticated electronic recording studios, providing the backdrop for many significant top-selling albums with production, engineering and playing by Ranum.
The rise of commercial TV in Denmark brought Ranum to the media world propelling a prolific career as a composer for movies, documentaries, corporates and commercials, both nationally and internationally.
Simultaneously pursuing musical ambitions Ranum has put out 2 solo albums enjoying succes regionally and in South East Asia.
During production of the 3rd album the prospects of the music business swiftly changed and Ranum saw the need to focus on songwriting and online presence.
After systematically analyzing the current music market and matching it to his unique media experience Ranum has now brought to life more than 700 songs and tracks in a portfolio that is fully controlled, recallable and adaptable for "next episode".
This portfolio forms the content backbone of an ambitious new web project with a unique approach to artist presentation, song pitching, synchronisation and licensing of the constantly growing output.
Assisted by a range of talented singers and musicians, Ranum can respond extremely swift to licensing and songwriting opportunities.
