Powerful Recordz was founded by Robert McCormick on December 17th 2004. The actual name "Powerful" is dedicated in memory of 1st cousin of President who's birth name is Serman Bracey. Determined to live out his own dreams as well as his cousin's musical aspirations as a musical genius, Shystee has put endless effort to put Powerful Recordz on the map and keep them there.
Since the grand opening of the label, Powerful Recordz has released 5 Independent Albums, 4 Mixtapes and extensive underground freestyles under their own umbrella. Being solely independent allows them to have direct hands on all projects from their album artwork, musical & video production, to the actual dupilication of all musical works, they do it all.
Artist include Shystee (CEO), Daponeof (Co-CEO, VP), DJ O-Swift (Super Producer) for Beatz Make Centz, Blade Brown, DukeZ Dollarz, Diamond Mommy, Tazmania, and Big Siz. This second family lives by one rule only and that's "Go Hard or Go Homelezz". All are solo artist but combined to form one lyrical team, this transformation is only described in one word. "drugZ" with a capital Z, and that Z is for the zone. "Drugz" describes their contagious, addictive musical arrangements, strong production line, and that special something a lyrical listener can get acquainted with.
Creative Control not only being the same name of Shystee's first solo album, but also the foundation of the label itself. The Powerful Recordz logo was designed by the late and great "Powerful" himself. Provided from one of his many B-Boy drawing books before his untimely passing. It graces all promotional and trademarked material to date.
